Ground. Bless. Welcome peace.

Palo Santo means “holy wood” in Spanish and has long been honored in Indigenous and folk-healing traditions throughout parts of Latin America. Its warm, woodsy aroma carries softly sweet, citrus-like notes and invites a peaceful, grounded atmosphere.

While sage is often used with the intention of releasing or clearing energy, Palo Santo is frequently used afterward to welcome in peace, warmth, blessings, and positive energy.

Spiritual & Metaphysical Uses:

  • Invite peaceful and uplifting energy into your home
  • Ground yourself before prayer, meditation, or journaling
  • Refresh your aura, altar, crystals, or spiritual tools
  • Support intentions of peace, clarity, gratitude, and creativity
  • Open or close a sacred ritual
  • Restore warmth and balance after an energy-clearing practice

How to Use:

Open at least one window or exterior door before lighting your Palo Santo to provide proper ventilation.

Hold one end of the wood over a fire-safe vessel. Light the opposite end and allow it to burn for approximately 20–30 seconds. Gently blow out the flame and allow the fragrant smoke to rise. Palo Santo naturally stops smoking after a short period and may need to be relit.

Carefully guide a small amount of smoke throughout your space, around your altar, or near your spiritual tools. For personal aura cleansing, gently waft the smoke around your body while keeping it away from your face, hair, skin, and clothing.

If using Palo Santo after sage, extinguish the sage completely first. Then light your Palo Santo while naming the energy you wish to welcome into the newly cleared space.

Suggested Intention:

“I welcome peace, love, clarity, and aligned energy into my heart, my home, and all that surrounds me.”

Safety:

Use only in a well-ventilated space. Never leave burning Palo Santo unattended. Keep away from children, pets, hair, clothing, and flammable materials. Avoid smoke rituals around anyone with asthma or respiratory sensitivities, and never burn around birds. For ritual use only; not intended for consumption.

As a natural material, each piece will vary slightly in size, color, grain, and appearance.
